SEN Airport Transfers: London Southend Airport

Private car from Southend to anywhere in London and beyond. Fixed price before you fly, flight tracking and meet & greet in arrivals.

About London Southend Airport

On the outskirts of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, London Southend is a small airport with a single terminal. easyJet is its airline, with flights to destinations in Europe and North Africa. East London is under 35 miles away, reached by road on the A13 and A127.

Because the terminal is compact, the airport says that on a good day you can be out within 15 minutes of landing. A chauffeur-driven car works well for families and groups, guests with luggage, executives bound for the City or Canary Wharf, and anyone whose late-running flight arrives once the last London train has left.

Guests from London Southend usually travel to Chelmsford, Southend-on-Sea, south Essex towns, Canary Wharf, or the City of London near Liverpool Street.

Getting from SEN to London

Coming from the London side, your chauffeur uses the A12 and A13, or the A127, which meets the M25 at junction 29. How long the trip takes depends on traffic along the A13 and A127 and on the roads into London, so build in extra time at busy times of day.

The airport has its own railway station, Southend Airport, which you reach on foot in a short walk. From there, Greater Anglia services reach Stratford in roughly 43 minutes and London Liverpool Street in roughly 52, running as often as six times an hour at peak, and you can change for the Elizabeth line at Shenfield. Pay-as-you-go with Oyster or contactless stops at Shenfield, so it cannot be used to the airport. Local buses go to Southend and Leigh-on-Sea, and the X30 to Chelmsford runs a limited service early in the morning and late in the evening.

A solo traveller heading for Stratford or Liverpool Street will find the train convenient. With children, several cases, a group, a late arrival or an address away from the railway, a car is the more practical way home.

Arrival tips

  1. The terminal is small and compact: once your bags are collected you walk directly into arrivals and find your chauffeur holding a name board.
  2. Cars are not allowed to wait long outside the terminal, which is why your chauffeur meets you inside and accompanies you to the vehicle.
  3. If your flight runs late, you lose nothing: we track it, and the 60 minutes of free waiting begins only when the aircraft lands.
  4. The meeting point is in your confirmation, alongside your chauffeur's name and phone number, so you can call or message if you are delayed.
  5. Child seats are free if you request them, and the fare already includes airport parking charges.
