Private Day Trips and Sightseeing from London with a Driver

A private car turns a day trip from London into a door-to-door outing. The driver collects you from your hotel, waits while you visit and brings you back when you are ready. There is no coach schedule and no changing trains with children. Prices are per vehicle, so a family or a group of friends shares one fare.

How it works

  • Book the outward journey on the booking form and choose “Return” with the time you want to leave. The driver waits and drives you back at that time; the return leg is discounted.
  • For several stops in one day, for example Windsor in the morning and Hampton Court in the afternoon, send us the plan through the contact page and we confirm one fixed price.
  • Your driver is a chauffeur, not a tour guide. Entrance tickets are not included; book timed tickets (Stonehenge, Windsor Castle) first.

Fares to popular destinations

One way, per vehicle, from central London (Charing Cross). The exact price for your address and date is shown on the booking form before you pay.

Ideas for a day

  • Windsor: the castle and a walk by the Thames; only about 14 km from Heathrow, so it fits before an evening flight or after a morning arrival.
  • Hampton Court Palace: Henry VIII’s palace, gardens and maze in south-west London.
  • Oxford or Cambridge: colleges, libraries and museums. Both are about 95–105 km from central London.
  • Stonehenge and Bath: a long day, with the stone circle in the morning and the Roman Baths in the afternoon. Send us the plan for one price.
  • Brighton: the pier, the Royal Pavilion and the Lanes, on the coast south of London.

Sightseeing in London by car

A car is useful for the sights that are spread out: Greenwich and the Royal Observatory, the Tower and Tower Bridge, Westminster, Notting Hill and Kensington’s museums. The driver drops you at each place and meets you at an agreed point. Many central streets do not allow a car to wait at the kerb, so the driver waits nearby and comes back when you call.

Families and groups

Child seats are free on request; give the children’s ages when you book. A van takes 6 passengers and a minibus up to 16, at one price for the vehicle. For more, see airport transfers with children.
